Big Sky Gourmet: Restaurant Dining Guide

Allgood's is Big Sky's only true Barbecue house. The
recipes are steeped in the finest tradition of Alabama &
Florida slow cookin', homemade, mouthwatering
barbeque. Dick Allgood was blown up to Montana by
Hurricane Andrew, where he landed fully on his feet
with an idea to bring Southern-style cooking
home to Big Sky.

Drop by at breakfast or lunch and you'll see Dick
putting together a huge batch of secret Brunswick Stew,
or his now public (via the cookbook of local canyon
recipes) very tasty Green Chili Stew, with fat roasted
Anaheim peppers, ground beef, sausage and seasonings
that meld together into an ambrosia that will bring
you back for more.

There just ain't a better place to have breakfast with
legendary omelets (try the green chili and cheese!)
with fried potatoes that literally fills a platter and
droops over the sides. Lunches and dinners feature
hickory-smoked baby back ribs, 1/2 chicken, turkey,
and something not found on any other menu
in the area--slow-smoked pork.

All barbecued items are smoked on the premises for at
least 6 hours to maximize the taste and ensure
melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. Everything that
comes out of Dick's kitchen is made from scratch, yes,
even the homemade salad dressing and, of course,
Dick's private barbecue sauce recipe.

Allgood's is known by the locals to have the absolute
best happy hour in Big Sky. From 4--6 p.m. get
Two-for-One well drinks. There are 10 draft beers on
tap including some favorite microbrew selections.
There are 40 different beers--crisp and cold--at any
given time. It's a favorite for après golf, après ski,
après work, après rafting, après hunting or just
lounging. Drop by if you're hungry, thirsty or both--
you're sure to be well taken care of.
